About me
Deborah MacFadyen, recently retired from Ambrose University as a sessional and consultant and the Calgary Board of Education as the Site Leader of Westbrook Outreach School, is an experienced K-12 educator, administrator, PD facilitator and published author whose academic credentials include B.Sc., B.Ed. Deb has provided innovative, strategic leadership throughout her career in schools, central office, Alberta Education, CTEC Council as PD Director, Conference Director and Vice President, as a Director for SafeGen and in various leadership roles in math, science, IOP, K&E courses, CTS courses, Career Pathways, Off-Campus, and Health and Safety initiatives and Health and Safety initiatives throughout her career. As an author with McGraw-Hill Ryerson, Rogue Media, Classroom Video and Alberta Education, she has written both academic and occupational curriculum and resources. Among other pursuits she is currently a consultant with Canadian Foundation for Economic Education (CFEE) for the "Building Futures in Alberta" financial literacy resources for grades 7-12. Deb continues to mentor students, teachers and administrators in implementing provincial legislation, regulation, policy, and programs of study using effective pedagogical practice and personalization of learning.
